During 2012, the employees and customers of Miners Bank led a fundraising campaign to purchase a vehicle, which is used by the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program. Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society Program of volunteers who provide transportation for cancer patients. This program is a free service offered to cancer patients who have no means of transportation and are often unable to drive themselves.
"We are pleased to support the mission of the Road to Recovery Program and the American Cancer Society. This relationship allows us to fulfill a need within our community and to show our care and compassion for the communities we serve," said Jennifer Reiner, Vice President Human Resources.
During 2011, the employees of Miners Bank and their families welcomed home the 131st Transportation Company, 213th Area Support Group of the Pennsylvania National Guard, in Williamstown, PA. The 131st Transportation Company returned to Williamstown after a 10 month deployment in Afghanistan.

During January 2013, the male employees and customers of Miners Bank are participating in a No Shave Campaign. The campaign will raise awareness and funds to benefit the American Cancer Society and Prostate Cancer Research. The American Cancer Society reports that other than skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men. Prostate cancer can be a serious disease, but most men diagnosed with prostate cancer do not die from it. More than 2.5 million men in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point are still alive today. The male employees and customers of Miners Bank will make a donation and let their facial hair grow throughout the month of January. And, Miners Bank is matching 100% of donations!
Miners Bank has been recognized as one of the best small business lenders in the country by Banking Grades, a website that provides grades for banks on their commitment to small business lending. The site is operated by MultiFunding, a small business advisory firm. “One of the biggest challenges that small businesses face is access to capital,” says Ami Kassar, CEO of MultiFunding. “Our grading system and website helps small business owners find local banks that are friends of small business - Banking Grades (www.bankinggrades.com).”
Banking Grades is a proprietary online tool that grades every bank on its commitment to small business lending. Using public data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Banking Grades compares the amount of a bank’s deposits to the number of loans that bank has made to small businesses. These loans are $1,000,000 or less. “This is a very objective grade. It’s all about the data. Based on their lending record, Miners Bank has shown that it is committed to helping small business. It is making loans to small businesses,” explains Kassar.

It is for that reason Miners Bank assembled a suite of products designed to help small businesses manage their cash in the most efficient manner possible.
Using a combination of Internet-based applications and other technologies, the services provide the three most important aspects of managing a businesses’ cash; speed the collection of funds, control the disbursement of funds and provide real-time information about those funds. For example, the Cash Manager product allows business owners to get up-to-the-minute information about their accounts, including balances and transactions.
Businesses can use the same service to transfer funds to and from their accounts, or set up pre-defined instructions with Miners Bank to perform certain transfers automatically. Another example includes the ability to initiate electronic payments to vendors or employees, or to electronically collect payments from customers. One of the most popular services gives businesses the ability to deposit paper checks to their accounts using the Internet, without ever having to make a trip to the Bank.
